1801. Convocation by Toussaint Louverture of a National Assembly with a view to
the development of a Constitution:
This Assembly had the task of electing a central Assembly of 10 members,
representative body responsible for drafting the Constitution of 1801.
1981. Decree sanctioning, under the Convention of 21 December 1965, the
legislation on the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination:
This decree prohibits any act of discrimination that occurs because of race, the
color, appearance, nationality or ethnic origin, particularly
in the field of employment.
