1834. Signing of the first concordat project between the Haitian government and the
Holy See:
Signed by Bishop J. Angland for the Holy See and B. Inginac and B. Ardouin for the
government of President Jean-Pierre Boyer, this first concordat comprising
17 articles and which should regularize the situation of the Catholic Church in Haiti, do not
will never be ratified. The exchange of ratifications should take place before March 1, 1837.
A second project will be signed two years later.

1890. Haitian-Dominican Convention:
Signature between the presidents Hyppolite (Haiti) and Ulysses Héraux République
Dominican) in Thomazeau of a Convention consolidating the friendship of the two peoples.
1802. The expeditionary fleet led by Leclerc arrives in the harbour of Port-au-Prince:
This fleet led by General Boudet and having under his command more than 3,000
the soldier takes over the city in the evening after having given battle to the forces of
Lamartinière.
1914. Return of the troops of Davilmar Théodore to Cap-Haitien:
The troops of Davilmar Theodore, who could not go to Port-au-Prince because
that, barred by Oreste Zamor’s army in the Artibonite, arrived at the Cape and
engaged in the systematic looting of the city
2004. Armed rebels take over the city of Gonaives:
Affiliated with the "Revolutionary Resistance Front of the Artibonite" which calls for the
resignation of President Aristide, these rebels burned the buildings belonging to
to the government. This insurrection, which spread to other cities in Haiti including the
Cap-Haitien and Hinche, was one of the factors that contributed to the forced departure of the
President Aristide.
