1802. Toussaint Louverture is declared a rebel and an outlaw by Leclerc:
Occupying Saint Domingue for nearly two weeks, General Leclerc, head of
the French punitive expedition immediately set out to find the general in
chef, Toussaint Louverture. By making him an outlaw, he hoped to hope for help
settlers and mulattos, and thus precipitate his capture.

1807. Constitution of the State of Haiti:
Promulgated by Henri Christophe, this constitution ratified the division of the North and
of the West. Christophe is then proclaimed president for life and generalissimo of
forces of land and sea, with the power to choose a successor among them
generals, and to appoint the members of a Council of State composed of generals to the
less for two-thirds.

1842. Signature of the 3rd concordat project between the Haitian government and the
Holy See:
Signed by the Most Reverend Joseph Rosati, Bishop of Saint Louis (USA), acting as
Legate of the pontiff Gregory XVI and General Balthazar Inginac, the senators Pierre
André and Beaubrun Ardouin, the citizen Villavaleix Jeune, private secretary of the
President Jean-Pierre Boyer for the Haitian government, this 3rd concordat
with 16 articles and which intended to affirm the presence of the Church on the
soil in a solid and definitive manner, will not, like these two predecessors,
never ratified. The death of the prelate on September 25, 1843 and the events that
were supposed to precipitate the end of Boyer’s presidency did not allow the actors to
to take this step. It will be necessary to wait until the year 1860 under the government of
Fabre Geffrard so that a fourth project is accepted by both parties and ratified.
1993. Sinking of the ship Neptune:
Coming from Jérémie and heading towards Port-au-Prince, the boat sank off
Miragoâne; a disaster causing 2024 victims who left them behind
they 6421 orphans.
