1793. From Saint Marc, the commissioners Sonthonax and Polvérel launched an attack
against the little whites of Port-au-Prince:
The little white people who hated both the great whites and the "people of
color" and who opposed their admission to the assemblies
colonial forces joined forces against the commissioners, who were very aggressive
in the application of the decree of April 4, 1792.
The bombing of the city had the expected results and the commissioners
regained control of the West Department and part of the South.

1926: Louis Borno is re-elected for a second presidential term.
The elections were organized by the Council of State, a legislative body since the
dissolution of Parliament in 1917. 20 candidates sought the attention of
members of this body. Borno was reelected without difficulty with 19 votes out of 20. One of the
Board members were absent and another opted for a blank ballot.
The 21 members of the council of state were appointed by Louis Borno himself
2008. Jacques Edouard Alexis is censored by the Senate of the Republic.
Sixteen senators out of the seventeen present voted for the motion of censure. The First
Minister, present in the Senate, had earlier given a brief speech. Jacques
Edouard Alexis was therefore the main victim of the hunger riots that have
paralyzed the country for nearly a week. The senators denounced
the inability of his government to develop a policy that takes into account
