Pierrot proclaimed the division of the Departments of the North and the Artibonite while
Rivière Hérard was in military campaign in the East. This action will be the
prelude to a coup d'état, the first in the history of Haiti.
2024. Installation of the Transitional Presidential Council and swearing-in ceremony
a temporary prime minister.
The Transitional Presidential Council, a creation of CARICOM, takes oath
after days of suspense and in front of a very small number of assistants.
This council is composed of seven members with voting rights and two
Observers. Four of the members take turns in the chair:

The two observers:
Dr. Frinel Joseph and Régine Abraham, the two representatives of the sectors of
Civil Society.
During the morning of April 25, the Minister for the Economy and Finance from
the resigning government became the interim prime minister. He replaced
officially the political mercenary Ariel Henry who, in a letter signed on
the day before, had submitted his resignation.
