1794. Arrival in Saint-Domingue of the official copy of the decree of February 4, 1793:
Between its publication and its arrival, several events had marked the
colony, such as for example:
) The flight of Governor Galbaud after his dealings with the commissioners
Sonthonaux, Polvérel and Ailhaud;
) The proclamation of freedom by the latter;
c) The emergence of Toussaint Louverture as an essential leader.
The captain in charge of the official document had also been instructed to arrest
Sonthonax and Polvérel to repatriate them according to the provisions of a decree published on the 16th
July 1793.

1799. The town of Petit-Goâve is attacked by Rigaud:
Rigaud, who energetically governed the South Peninsula, refused to recognize
the authority of Toussaint, appointed general-in-chief of the armies of Saint Domingue and the

1802. Toussaint Louverture is embarked on the frigate "La Créole":

1863. Géffrard dissolves parliament:
By a simple decree, Fabre Geffrard dismissed the parliamentarians who had
asked the executive for details and explanations about the budget. New
elections were held and a new parliament took office on September 7
