1815. Birth in Les Cayes of General Louis Félicité Salomon:
After having held several positions in the Public Administration, the general
Salomon will be elected president of Haiti on October 23, 1979. He will be deposed on the 10th.
August 1888 and died a few months later in France.
1879. Fight in the Chamber of Deputies:
This fight brought the brothers who were enemies of the Liberal Party into battle and precipitated the fall
of Boisrond Canal, which gave up power a year before the end of its term (See:
17 July 1879).
1886. Solomon’s re-election for a seven-year term:
President Louisius Congratulated Salomon who was made president by the Assembly
Nationale on October 23, 1876, was again elected. However, he did not finish his
term overthrown by the winds of insurrection led by General Seïde
Thélémaque, commander of the district of Cap-Haitien. He will take, as
so many other presidents before him the path of exile.
