📅 1802. Toussaint Louverture, prisoner of Napoleon, arrives at the Fort de Joux:
Arrested on June 7 of the same year and shipped to France for France on the following June 15,
Toussaint Louverture, deposed from his rank of division general of Saint Domingue, arrives in
this castle dating from the Middle Ages and transformed into a state prison in the mid-18th century.
He never left there, having returned to a cold and humid dungeon of this fort on April 7, 1803.
📅2026. Kenscoff massacre:
A coalition of armed gangs launched a night raid on Kenscoff, a mountainous commune in the
Southeast of Port-au-Prince. This attack resulted in the death of about forty people and the
destruction of several houses.
This is therefore not the first time that this locality has been targeted by these criminals. In 2025, a
intensification of attacks by gangs seeking to extend their control from Port-au-Prince, the
targeted, with fires, kidnappings, sexual violence, and looting. More than 260 dead
and 3,000 displaced persons had been recorded in that year.
Need we recall that the gang leader "Izo 2," also known as Didi, had announced
publicly this massacre two weeks ago
