📅 1793. Proclamation of the abolition of slavery in the western part of Santo Domingo by
Polverel:
Theater of wars between France and England on the one hand and France and Spain on the other,
Saint Domingue was revealed, for the commissioners Polvelre, Ailhaud, and Sonthonax who were to
also to face the fury of the great landowners (see: September 17, 1792), a land difficult
controllable. Seeking to get into the good graces of the black insurgents, they began
to adopt specific measures to confirm their freedom, then by the proclamation in two
time of abolition: first in the West and then in the North.

📅 1984. Decree setting the minimum wage to be paid from 1 October 1984:
Concerns workers employed in industrial, commercial and agricultural enterprises
"the area of the urban community." Pursuant to the decree of 24 Feb. 1984 updating the Code

of September 12, 1961 (SL 1961 – Haiti 1). This decree will be amended on May 4, 1995
