Third project finally approved by both parties (the government of Haiti and the Saint
siege), the Concordat of 1860 was signed respectively by Pierre Faubert and Cardinal Giacomo
Antonelli. President Geffrard countersigned it on May 10, and the Senate ratified it on August 1 of the same
year.
