10-26 October 26th

1820: Jean-Pierre Boyer’s entry into Cape Town.
This entry officially ended the division of the western part of the island that
had lasted more than 20 years. Jean-Pierre Boyer, successor of Alexandre Pétion, profited
of a situation of chaos caused by the suicide of Henri Christophe (October 8
1820) to lead a strong army to Cape Town. The generals who had
then conspired against Christopher were immediately dismissed or killed.
