 1845. Transfer of the seat of government to Cap-Haitien:
President Louis Pierrot (16 April 1845 – 28 February 1846), originally from the North, who
disdained the Port-au-Princiens, accusing them of trafficking, decided to return in
his village and forced his entourage and the members of his government to
to follow. After its overthrow, Port-au-Prince resumed its title of capital and its
functions as a seat of government.

1919. Death of Charlemagne Péralte
Betrayed by Jean-Baptiste Conzé, one of his lieutenants, Charlemagne Péralte received
two bullets in the back of Hermann Hanneken, an American commander.
