1844. First constitution of the Dominican Republic:
Separated from Haiti on February 27, 1844, this country published its first constitution charter.

1930. Election of Sténio Vincent to the presidency of Haiti:
Chosen by the National Assembly elected a month earlier, Sténio Vincent again
surprised by the choice of the parliamentarians, immediately headed to the national palace
accompanied by a military detachment and a brass band. He received that same day
the inauguration. After greeting him, his predecessor, Eugène Roy, left the palace under
the applause of an audience that has become increasingly numerous.
